Dr. Lara-Pantin joined HolaDoctor in 2000. He is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of health & wellness programs and educational content. He retired as a full professor from the Department of Public Health in the School of Medicine at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela after spending over thirty years at the university. Since 1982, Dr. Lara-Pantin has been an adjunct professor of the International Program of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine, where he was also a clinical professor of the Department of Health.
In 1984, Dr. Lara-Pantin founded the Center for Nutrition Research at the University of Carabobo. He was president of the Latin American Society for Nutrition from 1991 – 1993 and was Secretary of Health and president and CEO of the Institute of Health for the state of Carabobo from 1994 – 1998. He has also received numerous national and international awards, including a gold medal from the Venezuelan Health Ministry.
Dr. Lara-Pantin was president of several Venezuelan National Research Council commissions, and has also been a consultant to United Nations agencies including WHO/PAHO, FAO and UNICEF. He received his MD from the University of Carabobo in 1964 and his M.S. in Nutrition from Columbia University.
